Development programs can be implemented more effectively and smoothly once the society is well educated. For this purpose, NSSC has been operating adult education programs and non-formal education classes in its project areas such as Illam, Jhapa and Tanahun with financial assistance of RWSSFDB and STWSSSP.
Education for the poor is being a distanced commodity considering their socio-economic status. NSSC has established a scholarship program to motivate children for schooling. A fund has been created by NSSC in which individuals and institutions may contribute for the scholarships to the children depriving from formal schooling. These scholarships are provided for the children belonging to the backward and underprivileged communities.
Non-formal education is given to those children who do not have the opportunity to go to school. It is a preparatory class for the children to attend school after one year. The children are then automatically enrolled in school after the completion of informal education conducted by NSSC and are also provided books and school dress.
